Be Still

Good morning,

I awoke in the middle of the night (early Saturday morning) and my thoughts kept going to the phrase “In the still of the night” (I know it sounds like a song). There was no sound, just darkness, not an evil darkness just night and silence. Then this came to me “Be still and hear GOD, It not in the earthquake, not in the fire, not in the lightening, but in the still small voice.”

I heard this: “There are many voices you are listening to and giving them importance; some are good and some not so good. Consider abandoning these voices and listen to only mine. This is important for your instruction, for your comfort, for your leading.  Begin with worship and surrender to me all of you. When you abide in me in the secret place of your heart all other voices will be silenced. Press in and you will see the atmosphere change and you will hunger and thirst for the Truth of the Word of God.

You will hear me clearly for my sheep know my voice.  Ask, listen, and then act on what you hear Me say. Come to me with everything you need. Remember who you are and that is ‘My child’ you matter to me. You are valuable because I chose you. As you abide in me the promises from me are being fulfilled even beginning now. When the goodness of Christ is proclaimed the enemy is defeated.”

Holy Spirit help me clearly hear the voice of my LORD.

Branches

The other day, I was shopping for fruits and vegetables and noticed how unripe they still were…they looked pretty but they weren’t ready to use. I remembered a verse in John 15:1-8.

"I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”

To be used by GOD, for life to have meaning, we must stay on the vine so that we can bear fruit and more fruit for His glory.

Write your name on my heart

Keep me close…let me not wander

Rescue me from my rebellion

So I can smile again

Rescue me from the deep waters

So I can dance to your heartbeat

Rescue me from my persecutors

So I can sing your songs

You have heard my prayer

Tender are your mercies and

Prayer

Prayer is a two way conversation; we do not talk to ourselves. If God tells us to pray without ceasing, that means He is willing to communicate with us without ceasing, isn’t that Awesome!

No matter what we face, God’s grace is sufficient. His power is revealed and made perfect through our weakness. Never be ashamed to cry out to the Lord. He listens for you and will come to you, we need to be still and wait to hear Him answer.

Jesus, Savior, thank You for coming to my rescue. I know that Your grace is sufficient for me. Thank You for being my peace and security. Amen.
One of my most favorite verses is Amos 4:13 when I read it I feel like standing on a mountain and declaring out loud.  Read it through and see if you feel that way too.

He who forms the mountains, who creates the wind,

And Who Reveals His Thoughts to Mankind,

Who Turns DAWN to Darkness, and TREADS on the Heights of the EARTH

Yehovah,  God  Almighty  is  His  Name.

I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done.  I will be filled with joy because of you. I will sing praises to your name, O Most High. Psalm 9:1-2 

  

 God’s love is everlasting, you have value, you are His faithful servant and His faithfulness satisfies your soul.

But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may reside in me.  2 Corinthians 12:9
Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God            Psalm 20:7

The Holy Spirit is a river that flows and connects us to our past, present, future in/with His presence. GOD’s love is like a river flowing from my heart. 

You feed them from the abundance of your own house, letting them drink from your river of delights. Psalm 36:8
He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” John 7:38
